Jed Koehler

Jed Koehler grew up at the GLCBP in the 80's loving everything boating. He served as a sailing instructor for GLCBP from 1993-96 before leaving to become the Water Front Director for the MDC-DCR running local state beaches for five seasons. A graduate from Salem State University with a Bachelors of Business Law, Jed became a Program Director at the Lawrence Boys and Girls Club from 2002 to 2007, then a Director for the North Shore YMCA Group from 2007 to 2011. In March of 2011, Jed Koehler Became the 4th Executive Director of the GLCBP in its 31 year history.

Mike Kapp

Mike was born in Frankfurt, Germany and grew up in Andover, Massachusetts. He began rowing as a middle schooler at Essex Rowing club in Methuen and competed at the local and national level while attending Andover High. Mike went on to be recruited to Boston University where he found much success at the collegiate level including multiple podium finishes at the Eastern Sprints and IRA national Championship regattas. Mike was elected Co-Captain his senior year at BU and graduated in 2017 with a business degree concentrating in Finance.

Mandy Baril-O'Leary
Program Director

Mandy started working at the boathouse as the Snack Shack manager in 2012. After two years, she took on additional responsibility and became the Facilities Director for the Greater Lawrence Community Boating Program. Mandy currently manages the Snack Shack, building operations, GLS sailing team recruiting, and the CIT program located here at the GLCBP. During the year, she teaches 5th grade ELA at South Lawrence East Elementary School.

Amitai Or-Shahar
Waterfront Director

Amitai has been coming to the boating program since 2010 and learned to sail at a very young age. In 2016, he joined the CIT program and youth competitive rowing team at the boathouse. Hired as a GLCBP Staff in 2018, Amitai has been an instructor for three years and was the Assistant Waterfront Director for the 2021 summer season and is the Waterfront Director for the 2022 summer season. Having graduated from Andover High School in 2021, Amitai studies mechanical engineering at Northern Essex Community College.

Ryan Croteau
Assistant Waterfront Director

Ryan started coming to the boathouse in 2018 when he joined Greater Lawrence Rowing. He joined the CIT program in  2019 so he could expand his knowledge of boating. Ryan was hired as a GLCBP staff in 2020 and because the Assistant Waterfront Director in 2023. He currently attends UMASS Lowell and intends to graduate in 2026 with a degree in mechanical engineering.
