Commissioned in 1986, the Abe Bashara Boathouse was built by local Lawrence businessmen headed by Abe Bashara, owner of Bishop's Restaurant. The 10,000 square foot boathouse sits along the mighty Merrimack River and includes classrooms, a full tack room, locker rooms, maintenance bays, office space, and a large function hall with a beautiful view overlooking the river.

The boathouse currently services both the Greater Lawrence Community Boating Program, as well as Greater Lawrence Rowing, providing space for equipment, learning, and events.

Our facility is available for rental for your event. The function room on the second floor of the boathouse can seat 100 comfortably with room for a dance floor and head table. It has an outdoor deck that gives you a magnificent view of the river and skyline of the city. It's perfect for business meetings, family gatherings, or any type of special event.

Our picnic grounds can accomodate up to 300 people for your outing. By request, gas grills and a tent to seat 100 people can be provided. The facility includes ample parkings space for all of your guests.

We encourage you to come by and check out our facility to see just how perfect it would be for your event. To request details and for information regarding availability, please contact Executive Director Jed Koehler at 978-681-8675 or JKoehler@BoatingProgram.com.
